Il sito transnazionale coinvolge l’Italia, la Croazia e il Montenegro. I Comuni compresi nella proposta di candidatura sono Bergamo, Peschiera del Garda, Palmanova e Venezia per l’Italia; Zara, Sebenico, Hvar e Curzola per la Croazia, infine Castelnuovo, Cattaro e Ulcinjper il Montenegro.
La selezione di questi luoghi riflette la storica suddivisione dei domini veneziani in Stato di Terra (Italia) e Stato di Mare (Croazia e Montenegro), affacciati sul Mare Adriatico un tempo noto come “Golfo di Venezia”.
